Great Hawaiian Food
We first tried Kalua Pork on Maui and fell in love with it. I'm so glad L&L serves it. Their macaroni salad is so good. Their meals come with the macaroni & rice. They aren't always the most hospitable staff. But I love their food so much, I keep going. The Hawaiian music is so relaxing. They close at 8pm and at 7pm it's the 'witching hour', i.e. get it to go and get out fast. This restaurant is just such a family favorite.

Not worth the trip
I had first tried L&L with my husband and toddler. We enjoyed it as a fast food lunch and it was a great change from the usual take-outs around here. I got a katsu masubi for my toddler which was perfect size and my husband and I tried different dishes. They did NOT have the Haupia dessert listed on the menu and informed us it is only available on the weekends (even though menu doesn't say that).
So after a decent lunch I went back again with my toddler and order lunch. The owner said she remembered us and told me how it took her so long to clean up after my child from the rice all over. (My husband and I did clean up the table and my son barely ate the rice and only had the chicken.) She was rather irritated when I asked for another fork so my son could eat his lunch. They do not keep forks or napkins where they are easily accessible so you have to ask for them. Again they did not have the Haupia and said they didn't even bother to make it the past weekend, this was a Monday visit.
All in all, the food is decent, not great. The service is terrible!!
