We like going here just to get a feel like we've traveled to Germany and are eating at der Ratskellar. Besides that the food is terrific. Their steak & giant potatoes are delicious. It a nice change from other restaurants.

Been going to Backwoods for years. Then got married, and the wife and I have come here every year for our anniversary for the past 35 years. Have never been disappointed.

Rustic, cozy escape. Sawdust floors and swinging saloon doors make the Backwoods in charming. Great cheese bread and manly meat and potato meals.

If you want pure beef this is the place...no seasonings just plain grade a beef and the crab cocktail is fresh daily and such a deal...You can't beat the top for taste and value...Try the cheese bread not on menu just ask for it you will love it. New on the menu is the chicken fried steak ummmmmmmmmmmmm...can't beat it or the price...enjoy
